The American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) class provides CPR certification and is designed to train responders, including nurses, physicians, EMS professionals, and other healthcare and public safety personnel, to effectively respond to cardiac and other life-threatening emergencies in adults, children, and infants through emergency response courses and first aid training.

Build an in-house instructor team to train your staff effectively in first aid training. In this one-day course, participants earn CPR certification through Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification. Your instructors can then train others in your organization in essential emergency response courses like First Aid/CPR/AED, simplifying scheduling. They will also be able to teach Bloodborne Pathogens and other specialized Red Cross certification courses.

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides essential CPR certification for EMS, hospital, and other healthcare professionals, equipping them to respond effectively to cardiac and breathing emergencies in adults, children, and infants, both individually and as part of a team. This training is an important component of emergency response courses and first aid training.

This 1-hour class covers how bloodborne pathogens are transmitted, how to prevent exposure, and what to do if you come into contact with potentially infectious materials. It plays an essential role in meeting OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard requirements and complements emergency response courses, as well as first aid training. Completing the training results in a 1-year CPR certification.

Red Cross Boost Courses provide specialized training that results in additional certifications. These emergency response courses can be incorporated into First Aid training or CPR certification classes to enhance skills in asthma and anaphylaxis response, recognizing opioid overdoses, administering Narcan, splinting, and the application of tourniquets.
